NEW ORLEANS, La. | Alabama State breezed to the championship match with a 4-0 victory over Prairie View A&M Saturday afternoon at the Pepsi Tennis Center in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) semifinals.
The Hornets will look for their third consecutive conference title, facing Alabama A&M in the championship match Sunday.
Alabama State claimed the doubles point with identical 6-4 wins at numbers two and three doubles, before the SWAC Player of the Year
Ion Efrim won 6-0, 6-0 at number one. They also got wins from
Juan Rodriguez (6-0, 6-0) at number five,
Tomas Fernandez (6-2, 6-4) at number four.
