TAMPA, Fla. |Â Alabama State (0-1) will prepare to face South Florida on Thursday on the road inside the Yuengling Center for their second game of opening week.

The Hornets will retake the floor for a 7 pm (EST) tip on ESPN+ against the Bulls, their second trip to Tampa in two years after playing in December of 2019. Alabama State is coming off their first non-conference game since 2019 in a 91-62 loss against Mississippi State on Tuesday.

GAME NOTES
- Alabama State had three players in double figures in the season opener in Ayanna Emmanuel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Farrah Pearson (Hazel Green, Ala.) and Tamia Stallings (Brookhaven, Miss.) who combined for 32 of the 62 points.
- The Hornet bench proved to be a factor in the game against the Bulldogs, as they scored 20 bench points. Graduate transfer Jada Nneji (Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada) grabbed ten rebounds off the bench in her Alabama State debut.
- The two teams last met on December 6, 2019, also in Tampa inside the Yuengling Center where South Florida took the win.
