@BamaStateWBB set for final regular season homestand

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to action this weekend looking to keep pace with Jackson State atop the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings, hosting Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M.

Both games will be carried by the Hornet Sports Network, beginning with Texas Southern at 2 pm Saturday afternoon. Alabama State (11-2) swept the road series in Texas in late January for the first time 2013-14 and look to sweep the season series at home.

Ayana Emmanuel leads Alabama State, averaging 16.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She is shooting 45.7 (63-for-138) percent and 36.4 (20-for-55) from beyond the arc. Shmya Ward is second on the team in scoring at 16.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, while Jayla Crawford is averaging 12.2 points per game.

The Hornets will then face Prairie View A&M Monday night at 5:30 pm on Senior Day.

Season ticket holders only will be admitted into the Dunn-Oliver Acadome during the weekend home stand, and Alabama State University and its athletic venues are mask mandatory.
