MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State continued with their winning ways in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play with a 4-0 win over Jackson State in their only match in the SWAC Pod.
The Hornets (6-4, 4-0 SWAC) dropped just two sets on the day as they picked up the doubles point after a 6-1 win by the
Alejo Calvis and
Kristofer Johnson pairing, followed by a 6-2 win by
Ruan Du Preez and
Assil Boussayri.
In singles play, Boussayri picked up a straight set win at number three while Du Preez won 6-4, 6-2 in straight sets and Johnson also picked up a win, winning both sets by scores of 6-2.
Alabama State returns to action at home on March 23 against Jacksonville State. No fans will be allowed inside the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center for the match due to socially distant seating. Alabama State University is a mask mandatory campus, including all of its athletic venues.
