MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will return to the confines of the Dunn-Oliver Acadome for a three-game home stint starting with Jackson State on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off for the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 pm.

GAME NOTES
- Alabama State is entering Saturday's contest after picking up two road wins to start the Southwestern Athletic Conference season. The Hornets defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 54-40 on Wednesday afternoon, led by seniors Tyesha Rudolph (Evergreen, Ala.) who scored 15 points and Ayana Emmanuel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) who finished with 12 points.
- Jackson State and Alabama State were picked first and second in the SWAC preseason poll voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. The Tigers earned 255 votes, including 19 first place votes, while the Hornets received 238 votes, and one first place vote.
- These two teams last met in the 2021 SWAC Championship game, with Jackson State taking a one-point win to claim a NCAA Tournament berth. The Tigers fell to No. 2 seeded Baylor in the first round.
- The Hornets currently trail the Tigers 38-51 in the all-time series, including 23-15 in Montgomery and 5-3 in neutral site games. ASU is 25-27 during the tenure of head coach Freda Freeman-Jackson.
