MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State struggled from beyond the arc, while Mississippi Valley State shot nearly 60 percent from beyond the arc in an 85-71 victory over the Hornets on Monday night.

Mississippi Valley State (2-21, 2-11 SWAC) finished the night shooting 56.0 (14-of-25) percent from beyond the arc and 54.5 (30-of-55) percent from the floor, while four players scored in double figures. Terry Collins finished the night with a game-high 24 points, while Caleb Hunter added 20. David McCoy and Gray Grant each added 15 points in the win for the Delta Devils.

Kenny Strawbridge (Rockford, Ill.) led Alabama State with 18 points after shooting 9-of-12 from the floor, while Isaiah Range (Cedar Hill, Texas) added 14. Meanwhile, E.J. Clark (Dallas, Texas) with 12 points for the Hornets who finished the night shooting 43.5 (27-of-62) percent from beyond the arc and just 17.4 (4-of-23) percent from beyond the arc.
