MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State came up short in its non-conference match against VCU on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon, falling 4-1 at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
The Match
- VCU captured the doubles point with wins at number two and three, including a 7-6 victory by the team of Inigo Torre Martin and Rayana Stable over Alabama State's team of Samrakshyak Bajracharya (Katmandu, Nepal) and Ruan Du Preez (Cape Town, South Africa).
- The Hornets were able to grab a doubles match when the number one team of Chris Andre (Berlin, Germany) and Juan Rodriguez (Concordia, Argentina) won a 7-6 match.
- The Hornets lone point of the day came from Bajracharya at number two where they defeated Maxence Bertimon 6-2, 6-3.
