TROY, Ala. | Alabama State picked up a win in doubles and a pair of wins in singles' competition on Wednesday afternoon against Troy, falling to their in-state foe 5-2 on the road.
The doubles' team of
Sahra Bouchaala (Aix-En-Provence, France) and
Timothee Legaud (Severac, France) picked up a 6-2 victory over the Trojans' team of Michelle Ncube and Kristina Kukaras at number three doubles, however, it wasn't enough to pick up the doubles' point as Troy won at number one and number two.
In singles play, Bouchaala picked up a straight-set victory over Anastasia Khokhlova at number one; winning 6-2, 6-2 in the fourth match decided on the day. In the final match decided with the team result finished,
Bea Acena (Dubai, UAE) picked up 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 win over Olivia Elloitt of Troy.

Alabama State returns to action on Saturday with the first of two matches in the city of Mobile, facing Southeastern Louisiana at a neutral site. They will also face South Alabama on Sunday in Mobile.
