HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAPB jumped out to an early 10-2 lead on a Coria Beck 3-pointer in the first quarter.
- A Shmya Ward 3-point play got the Lady Hornets within 11-8 with 4:27 left in the opening quarter.
- The Lady Lions went on a 6-2 run to build the lead to 17-10.
- Ayanna Emmanuel's 3-point play with 40 seconds to go in the opening quarter cut the UAPB lead to 19-17.
- Alexyss Newman gave UAPB a 22-19 lead on a layup heading into the second quarter.
- DaKiyah Sanders made a three to tie the game 26-26 at the 8:14 mark of the second quarter.
- ASU took its first lead at 28-26 on a pair of Jayla Crawford free throws one minute later.
- A Kristian Jackson 3-pointer and a Cordasia Harris free throw gave ASU a 34-31 lead with under 4:00 remaining.
- Ward and Emmanuel combined for 19 points as the Lady Hornets carried a 39-35 lead into halftime.
- ASU jumped out to a 44-37 early in the third quarter after Harris's 3-pointer and free throw.
