BATON ROUGE, La. – Bailey Greenlee tossed three shutout innings with six strikeouts to carry the Alabama State softball team to an 11-0 win over Arlington Baptist in game two of the Mardi Gras Classic on Friday.
 
The Lady Hornets split two games on the day, falling 6-0 to Eastern Illinois in game one of the day.

 HOW IT HAPPENED - EIU

• Eastern Illinois scored three in the first and added a run in the third and two runs in the fifth.
• Jaylen Pirchard, and Rachel Kaufman RBI singles in the three-run first inning for EIU.
• Lindy Milkowski singed home a run in the third inning for the Panthers.
• Briana Gonzalez highlighted hit a solo home run to highlight EIU's two-run fifth.

IN THE CIRCLE - EIU

• Olivia Price (1-2) tossed a no-hitter while rccording nine strikeouts with one walk over 7.0 innings of work.
• Ashley Pye (0-1) allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits with two strikeouts as the pitcher of record for the Lady Hornets.
• Hailey Dyson worked 2.0 innings in the circle, yielding two runs on three hits.

INSIDE THE BOX - EIU

• Kiana Parrish was the lone base runner in the game drawing a walk in the sixth inning.

HOW IT HAPPENED - ABU

• Lauryn Maher drove in two runs and later scored on an error to give Alabama State a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
• Alabama State added two runs in the second to build the lead to 5-0. Madison Myers reached on an infield single to plate a run and a run scored on a Jaeda Gardner RBI groundout.
• The Lady Hornets scored five times in the fourth to take an 11-0 lead. Alex Preston hit a two-run home run, Maher had a solo home run and Myers had an RBI single.to highlight the inning.

IN THE CIRCLE - ABU

• Greenlee (1-1) yielded one hit over three scoreless innings with three strikeouts to earn the win in the circle for ASU.
• Hailey Dyson tossed 2.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts in relief for the Lady Hornets.
• Ramos (0-1) gave up five runs on four hits with two strikeouts to take the loss for Arlington Baptist.

• Madison Myers went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI.
• Lauryn Maher went 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBI.
