TROY, Ala. – The Alabama State University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 road decision to Troy University at Troy's Lunsford Tennis Center. on Tuesday.
 
The Hornets claimed a win at No. 3 doubles as Matis Amier and Alexandre Verlaguet claimed a 7-5 win over Erramuspe, Francisco and Martinez, Mario. Troy claimed two-of-three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead into singles where the Trojans won four singles matches to clinch the win.
 
David Grandinot and Sam Bajracharya won at the number two and three spots for the Hornets two singles wins. Grandinot won in three sets over Carles Anton 1-6, 6-2,7-6 (7-5). Bajracharya also won a three set win over Jules Fabre 6-3, 6-7 (4-7) 10-2.
 
The Hornets welcome Columbus State University on Friday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Complex.
