NEW ORLEANS, La. | Alabama State was victorious over Jackson State with a 4-0 to be crowned the Southwestern Athletic Conference Champions in Sunday's match at the City Park Tennis Center.
Alabama State has won back to back SWAC Championships and with the win, the Hornets will advance to the NCAA Regionals beginning next month and finish off an undefeated season (both regular season and tournament) in conference play.
Juan Rodriguez was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, while
Anuk Christiansz was named the SWAC Coach of the Year for the second year in a row. Joining Juan on the all-conference team was
Ruan Du Preez and
Samrakshyak Bajracharya.
