MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University women's tennis opened Southwestern Athelticd Conference play with a 4-0 win over Bethune-Cookman University on Thursday. 

The win was the Lady Hornets second straight win heading into this weekend's SWAC POD 1 at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center in Montgomery, Ala.

Alabama State won the doubles point by virtue wins by Madalena Andrade and Bea Acena at No. 2 doubles and Camelle Vial and Timonthee Lagaud at No 3 doubles. 

Sahra Bouchaala, Acena and Lagaud wrapped up the match with singles wins. 

Alabama State returns to the courts against Mississippi Valley State at 2 .m. on Saturday and against Jackson State at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the SWAC POD 1.
