TROY, Ala. | The Alabama State Hornets had a tough showing on Sunday, falling to the Western Kentucky and Troy on the final day of the Cardinal Clash hosted by Troy University.

Trailing 6-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Alabama State got an RBI single from senior Zoee Disroe, scoring Ramsey from third base.
The Hornets deficit grew to 9-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the fifth inning. Freshman Meshayla Pettaway came across to score the lone run of the inning for Alabama State, which tightened the Hilltoppers lead to 9-2. The ballgame ended with that fifth inning rally falling short.
