Four Alabama State players record at least two hits in loss to Jackson State

JACKSON, Miss. | Alabama State University sofftball had four players collect multiple hits, but the Hornets fell to the Jackson State University 9-4 on Saturday. 

Sophomore Kohana Pouson (2-8) took the loss in the circle, allowing nine runs on 14 hits with two strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 3-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the second inning. Alabama State got an RBI single from freshman Ayana Frank, scoring senior Leah Richardson from third base.

The Hornets deficit grew to 5-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the fifth inning. which tightened the Tigers lead to 5-4. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Jackson State added four runs to their tally on the way to a 9-4 final.
