Alabama State comes up short at No. 23 Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.  | The Alabama State University softball fell on the raod to the No. 23 University of Alabama Crimson Tide 6-4 on Tuesday.

Freshman Kaitlyn Hill (0-9) got the ball to start for Alabama State (8-27) and took the loss. Freshman Mason Quinnie was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 2.2 shutout innings, allowing one hit, with three walks and one strikeout.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Alabama State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run single off the bat of junior Alana Scott. The Hornets were unable to hold the lead, as Alabama scored three times over the remaining four innings to grab the 6-4 win.
