MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University softball fell to No. 20 University of Alabama 7-0 at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex on Tuesday.
Freshman Kaitlyn Hill (3-11) got the ball to start for Alabama State (15-32) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Alabama State did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Hornets went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the third, when junior Alana Scott made it into scoring position with one out.
GAME NOTES
» Alabama State pitchers faced 32 Alabama hitters in the game, allowing four ground balls and 14 fly balls.
» Senior Leah Richardson led the Hornets at the plate, going 1-for-3.
» Alabama was led offensively by freshman Hubbard, who went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.
