TROY, Ala. --The Alabama State University softball team had its struggles on Wednesday, falling to the Troy University 10-1.
Amanda Cintron (2-3) started and took the loss in the circle for Alabama State (3-9).
Offensively, the Hornets were paced by Talee Sims, who went 1-for-2 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Alana Scott came across to score the lone run of the inning for Alabama State and get them on the board. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Troy added eight runs to their tally on the way to a 10-1 final.

Alabama State hosts the 2026 HBCU Celebration Classic on Feb. 20-22 at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex. The Hornets begin play against South Carolina State on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by Alcorn State at 4:30 p.m.
