Poole Represents ‘Bama State as Defensive Coordinator at NFL Pro Bowl.

OAKLAND, Calif. | First-Year Women's Flag Football Coach Tyrone represented Alabama State University as the Defensive Coordinator on the NFC coaching staff during Tuesday's NFL Pro Bowl Flag football game.

Pool is former NFL veteran defensive back and Fort Valley State.

In September, Poole was named the head coach of the Alabama State Women's Flag Football program ahead of their second season. He along with Alabama State Head Football Coach Eddie Robinson were also selected to be enshrined in the 2026 Black College Football Hall of Fame class.

The NFC prevailed in the annual Pro Bowl flag football game with a 66-52 victory over the AFC. The NFC trailed by 18 points at one point, but a 30-8 scoring advantage in the second half completed the comeback.

The NFC also came away with multiple interceptions on the other side of the ball, including two off dropped passes by Cincinnati Bengals star Ja'Marr Chase. Antoine Winfield Jr., who came away with the second of those tipped interceptions, was named the Defensive MVP of the game.

'Bama State Flag football team will join Poole to participate in the Divine Nine and HBCU Flag Football on Friday, Feb. 6 at Laney College in Oakland.

The day will be filled with community, competition, and charity. This free event brings together the spirit of HBCUs, the legacy of the Divine Nine, and the love of the game-all for a great cause. Don't miss out on the fun!
