HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Alabama State University women's bowling capped a strong weekend by finishing third in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular-season standings as SWAC Round Up 2 concluded Sunday at Huntsville, Alabama.
The Hornets posted an 8–6 match record over 14 traditional matches, totaling 12,270 pins in 70 games for a 175.3 team average. Alabama State finished just behind Jackson State (12–2) and Texas Southern (10–4) in the final standings.
Individually, Alabama State was led by Jenna Knight, who claimed the top spot in the all-tournament standings. Knight rolled a tournament-high 2,651 pins over 14 games, averaging 189.36 to lead the field..Taylor Lee also delivered a standout performance, finishing seventh overall with a 182.00 average after knocking down 2,548 pins across 14 games. Olivia Miller rounded out the Hornets' top performers, placing 12th with a 175.07 average and 2,451 total pins.
Additional contributions came from Nevaeh Williams (17th, 167.57 average) and Nikia Thomas (21st, 162.43 average), as Alabama State consistently remained among the conference leaders throughout the three-day event.
With the third-place finish at Round Up 2, the Hornets enter the postseason positioning themselves as a contender in the SWAC Championship, buoyed by depth across the lineup and elite production at the top of the individual standings.
