MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Alabama State University men's tennis dropped a 5-2 decision to Middle Tennessee State University on Sunday.
Alabama State showed strong doubles chemistry, particularly from the pairings of Martin Catrice and Metteo Lataste and Milan Ristov and Eloi Roux, but could not sustain momentum in singles play.
Loris Gueli provided the Hornets' lone singles point with a tight super-tiebreak victory at No. 6. Gueli beat MTSU's Santiago Lora (MTSU), 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) to on court six in singles for the Hornets.
