Flor De Sitter Clinches Hornets' 4-3 Win Over Georgia State

MONTGOMERY, Ala,. | Flor De Sitter delivered the clinching point at No. 2 singles as Alabama State University rallied to defeat Georgia State University 4-3 Thursday afternoon at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.

With the match tied at 3-3, De Sitter battled through a tight opening set before pulling away in the third to secure a 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 victory over Arthur Attrill to seal the win for the Hornets.

Alabama State (6-5) set the tone early by sweeping the doubles matches to claim the opening point. Gord Fran Mileusnic and Vid Maric picked up a 6-3 win over Gabriele Datei and Aryan Jit Singh at No. 1 doubles, while Martin Catrice and Matteo Lataste followed with a 6-2 victory against Aleksandar Andrin and Attrill at No. 2.

Milan Ristov and Eloi Roux completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win over Gustav Andersson and Sota Minami at the No. 3 position.

Georgia State (3-8) responded in singles play with wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 to take a 3-2 lead. Datei defeated Ristov 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at the top spot, while Cem Atlamis rallied past Roux 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3. Andrin also posted a straight-set victory over Catrice 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

The Hornets evened the score when Loris Gueli defeated Singh 6-0, 7-5 at No. 5 singles. Mileusnic then tied the match with a clutch performance at No. 6 singles, edging Andersson 7-6, 7-6 to set up the decisive match on court two.

De Sitter closed the door for Alabama State, dominating the third set to secure the Hornets' fourth point of the afternoon.
