DAYTONA, BEACH, Fla. | Despite picking up six hits in the ballgame and out-hitting Bethune-Cookman, Alabama State was unable to push across more runs, as the Hornets fell to the Wildcats 5-3 Friday.
Kohana Pousson (4-5) came out of the bullpen for Alabama State (9-18, 3-1) and took the loss. The right-hander went five innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on four hits, allowing no walks and striking out four.
In the batter's box, the Hornets were paced by Alana Scott, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and three RBI. Brooke Ramsey went 2-for-3 with a walk.
