NEW ORLEANS, La. | Alabama State University men's tennis captured the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Tennis Championship in dominant fashion, blanking top-seeded Alabama A&M 4-0, on Sunday at the Pepsi Tennis Center.
The Hornets secured their fifth consecutive conference title and 10th overall under head coach
Anuk Christiansz, continuing a run of excellence atop the SWAC.
Alabama State set the tone early by claiming the doubles point with wixns on courts one and three. The tandem of Gordon Fran Mileusnic and
Vid Maric rolled to a 6-1 victory on court one, while
Milan Ristov and
Eloi Roux followed with a 6-3 win on court three to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Alabama State quickly extended its advantage.
Flor De Sitter earned a straight-sets win at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-4, before
Milan Ristov added another point with a 7-6 (9-7), 6-1 victory on court one.
Loris Gueli delivered the निर्णc clinching point on court six, defeating his opponent 7-5, 6-0 to seal the 4-0 sweep and the championship for the Hornets.
With the victory, Alabama State advances to the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship. Tournament selections, including site and opponent, will be announced during the NCAA Selection Show.
