Alabama State out-hits Jackson State but falls 2-1

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Despite picking up seven hits in the ballgame and out-hitting Jackson State, Alabama State was unable to push across more runs, as the Hornets fell to the Tigers 2-1 Friday.

Kaitlyn Hill (1-7) got the ball to start for Alabama State (13-26, 7-6) and took the loss. The right-hander went 3.1 innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on four hits, allowing one walk and striking out one. Kohana Pousson was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 3.2 shutout innings, allowing no hits, with no walks and five strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 2-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the seventh inning. Alabama State got on the board thanks to Jaibriel Terrell's RBI double with two outs. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
