GULFPORT, Miss. --The Alabama State Hornets were not able to notch a run against Texas Southern pitcher sophomore Zaria Turner on Wednesday and were shut out 3-0 by the Tigers.
Sophomore Mason Quinnie (5-8) started and took the loss in the circle for Alabama State (23-31). Junior Kohana Pousson was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 3.2 innings, surrendering one run on two hits, walking four and striking out three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Alabama State did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Hornets went 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fourth, when senior Brooke Ramsey made it into scoring position with two outs.
