ATLANTA, Ga. | Alabama State University finished third in the women's team standings at the 25th Annual HBCU National Tennis Tournament in Atlanta with 59 points, trailing only Norfolk State University (82) and Howard University (64).

The top finish for the Hornets came in Women's B Doubles, where Lilou Souplet-Guerne and Kesmat El Tawil advanced to the championship match before finishing as runners-up. The Alabama State pair fell to the top-seeded Imani Jean and Leah Thomas of Howard University, 6-1, in the final. 

Alabama State Women's Singles Recap

• Faith Souplet-Guerne turned in Alabama State's best singles performance, advancing all the way to the Women's Singles championship match before finishing as runner-up. She reached the final with victories through the main draw before falling to top-seeded Lyric Wilson in the title match. 
• Alabama State also received singles points from competitors throughout the main and consolation draws, helping the Hornets secure third place in the overall team standings.
