Interviews
All interview requests for men's basketball head coach Tony Madlock and women's head basketball coach Johnetta Hayes, and any Alabama State assistant coaches and players, MUST be coordinated through the Athletic Strategic Communications Office.

Players are available for interviews, either in person or on the phone, or before or after practice, depending on their class and meeting schedules.

In order to have time to arrange for player interviews, please provide 48 hours notice to the Athletic Strategic Communications Office. Player interviews may be conducted in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome or in the Athletic Strategic Communications Office. The Alabama State training rooms, locker rooms, weight room, and meeting room areas are off-limits to the media. Your cooperation is appreciated.

For telephone interviews, the student-athlete will be provided with the number and will make the call at a mutually-agreed-upon time. Phone numbers of student-athletes will NOT be made available to the media. For interviews with head men's basketball coach Mo Williams or head women's basketball coach Freda Freeman-Jackson, and/or Alabama State assistant coaches, please contact either Fred Sington or Justin Mordecai in the Athletic Strategic Communications Office.

Practice Coverage
In general, Alabama State practices, held at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome or Lockhart Gymnasium, are closed to the local media.

Updated statistics, game recaps, game notes, player and coaches' bios, newspaper articles, as well as historical, broadcast, and ticket information, can be found on the  Alabama State Official Athletics Website at bamastatesports.com. Media are encouraged to check the website regularly for the latest Hornets/Lady Hornets athletics news.

Accessing Information
Members of the media can obtain the latest news, game releases, rosters, and season and single game statistics from Alabama State in several ways. All this information and more is regularly updated and posted in a PDF format on the official athletics website, www.bamastatesports.com. In addition, information can be sent via e-mail or fax on a daily or weekly basis. GAME DAY COVERAGE
Credential Requests
All requests for media, radio, television, photography, and scouting for the Alabama State Basketball season, or any individual game, should be made IN WRITING, on company letterhead or via e-mail, (company name in address), to either Fred Sington (WBB) or Darrell Orand (MBB). Requests should be made at least one week prior to the game. In general, individual game credentials will not be mailed but can be picked up in the Athletic Strategic Communications Office the week of the game, or at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

Press Row Services
A media workroom is located on the concourse level of Dunn-Oliver Acadome. Game notes, rosters, programs, and other information will be available in this room before games. Half-time and post-game statistics will be delivered to the press row as soon as possible. Complete post-game box scores will be available approximately 20 minutes after the game.

Visiting Radio/Television Broadcasts
Visiting radio stations will have phone lines (including one data line) available at courtside opposite the team benches. Space will be allocated along press row for television broadcasts. Visiting SIDs will designate their official radio stations, and Alabama State will supply internet lines on a reciprocal basis for that station. Entities that wish to broadcast Alabama State home contests should send their request, in writing, to either Fred Sington or Justin Mordecai.

Post-Game Interviews
The Alabama State locker room is closed following all Alabama State contests (home and away). Head coach Tony Madlock and women's head basketball coach Johnetta Hayes, and requested players will be available in the media room following the games.

For Alabama State home games, the SID of the visiting school will establish admittance policies to the visiting locker room.

Credential Regulations
All space for the working press, radio, and television for Alabama State Basketball games is allocated by the Alabama State Athletic Strategic Communications Office, which reserves the right to deny credentials to any outlet. Press credentials will be issued to working press only. Press credentials are non-transferable, and use by anyone other than members of the working press is unauthorized. Press credentials used in an unauthorized manner will be revoked immediately. News organizations allowing unauthorized individuals to use credentials will have their credentials revoked for the remainder of the year.

Alabama State follows guidelines set forth by the NCAA Public Relations Committee, the NCAA Basketball Rules Committee, and the National Press Photographers Association. Photographers are not permitted on the sidelines (bench side and press side) and must have credentials visible at all times. Photographers are required to go behind the press working table (opposite the scorers' table) to pass from one end of the field to the other.

Uniformed security personnel will patrol the sidelines, and anyone holding a media pass who is not actively involved in coverage of the game will be escorted from the sideline. Children under 12 will not be issued media or photo credentials.

SOUTHWESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE (SWAC) MEDIA SERVICES
The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Media Relations staff will compile a weekly basketball press release and league statistics as well as notes, standings, television schedules, and results. The entire release is available beginning Monday afternoon and also includes the weekly Player of the Week, which is determined by a media panel.
