Keith Williams

Keith Williams begins his second year at Alabama State and first as an assistant coach after serving as the Director of Operations for the Alabama State men’s basketball program last season, joining Mo Williams’ staff prior to the 2020-21 season.
 
He joined the staff after serving a trainer for the Mo Williams Academy (Dallas, Texas) where he helped train and develop student-athletes, while also serving as a mentor. He assisted with individual workouts to help develop fundamentals and utilized special drills to enhance player performance and knowledge of the game of basketball.
 
During that time, Williams also filled in teaching duties at the Eladio Martinez Learning Center where he helped instruct sixth graduate students in General Science and Mathematics. He was the middle school basketball coach (August 2016-June 2017) at the Universal Academy Irving where he also taught sixth grade students in the areas of General Science and Math.
 
Williams got his start in coaching as a member of the 2008-09 staff at UAPB where he served as a graduate assistant for the SWAC champions. He helped with the recruiting efforts of the program establishing relationships with AAU and high school coaches, served as the video coordinator, and assisted with player evaluations.
 
He was a high school state champion at Little Rock Central High School as a student-athlete in 2000-01 and has served as an AAU coach for three basketball programs and track programs.
 
Williams earned his undergraduate degree from UAPB in December 2007 in Professional Studies.
