Biography

2014-15: Sawmiller assisted the Lady Hornets competing after having surgery just missing two tournaments, but most of her success came more in the classroom then on the lanes.  

Her 
academic achievements were netted from being selected as a National Collegiate bowling coaches Association (NCBCA) Academic All-American.  In the same the same season she was also recognized by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) to the Academic All-NTCA Team.    

High School: Ohio, was a four-year varsity bowler and team co-captain with the Knights.  She was the first bowler in the history of the schools program to qualify individually for OHSAA State competition during her junior year. 
 
Jessica is a year-round bowler which competes in sport shot summer leagues, including the competitive Wright State University travel league and the Beaver-Vu Survivor league.  She is also an active member of the JTBA (Junior Tournament Bowlers Association) and is currently the point leader for Rookie of the Year.
 
Sawmiller's other accolades consist of the 2013 WSU Travel League Champion, 2013 and 2014 Dayton Catholic Schools Invitational Individual Champion, 2014 Pirate Challenge Individual Champion, 2014 JTBA Junior Doubles Champion and the 2013 Turbo Tech Collegiate Expo Individual Champion.  She has competed in three USBC Junior Gold competitions, and is currently preparing for her fourth Junior Gold competition this summer.  She is a member of both the USBC and TNBA.
 
Off the lanes, Jessica will be completing her third year as a Youth Director with the Greater Dayton USBC, her fourth year as a Greater Dayton USBC Youth Leader.  She also serves as a Peer Minister and Student Ambassador with Alter High School.  Additionally, she is active in serving the homeless each month with a neighborhood church.  She maintains a 3.09 GPA with emphasis on Honors and Advanced Placement classes with plans to major in Political Science with a Legal Studies minor, while at ASU.
