Qwazon Al Khaliq joins the Alabama State University Track and Field program as an assistant coach for the 2025–26 season, serving as the program’s jumps and multis coach.
Prior to joining Alabama State, Al Khaliq served as the jumps coach at the University of Northern Colorado, where he played a key role in the development of the program’s jumpers. During his two seasons with Northern Colorado, the program produced school records in both the men’s and women’s long jump and triple jump events. The Bears also captured three Big Sky Conference champions, set five school records, produced the NCAA’s No. 2-ranked freshman, Camaria Corder, and qualified three athletes for the NCAA West Regional.
A highly accomplished athlete himself, Al Khaliq was a six-time ASUN triple jump champion during his collegiate career at Kennesaw State University. In his final season at Northern Colorado, he established indoor and outdoor school records in the triple jump, recording marks of 16.05 meters indoors and 16.30 meters outdoors.
Al Khaliq has also competed at the highest levels of the sport, appearing at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials, the 2022 and 2023 USA Outdoor Championships, and the 2022 USA Indoor Championships, where he earned a fourth-place finish.
Al Khaliq earned his bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University before completing a master’s degree in Sports Administration at the University of Northern Colorado. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Education Studies at Northern Colorado, with an expected graduation date of 2030.
