Stephon Parker Jr. enters his first year as a defensive analyst at Alabama State University, following more than a decade of coaching experience around the country.
From 2023-2024, Parker served as the defensive line coach at Chadron State College. During his tenure, he coached three All-RMAC defensive line selections and a two-time All-American and mentored the program's all-time sacks leader, who finished his career with 35.5 sacks. Parker was responsible for all run game schemes and adjustments, and his position group combined for 250+ tackles, 50 tackles for loss, 40 sacks, 2 interceptions, and a touchdown over two seasons. The unit ranked 2nd in the RMAC in total defense, 3rd in rushing defense, and 2nd in sacks.
In 2022, Parker served as the safeties coach at Valdosta State University under head coach Tremaine Jackson.
In 2021, Parker served as an offensive analyst and assistant wide receivers coach at the University of Georgia under offensive coordinator Todd Monken, helping the Bulldogs to the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. He coached one All-SEC Freshman selection and contributed to a recruiting class ranked No. 3 nationally. Parker was responsible for all third-down scouting and game preparation for an offense that ranked 4th in the SEC in third-down conversion rate and 3rd in the SEC in scoring. Georgia's offense averaged 442.8 yards per game and scored 68 total touchdowns in 2021, while averaging 7.0 yards per play—best in the SEC.
In 2018, Parker was the safeties assistant coach at Alcorn State under Chris Cash, helping guide a unit that produced five All-SWAC selections and ranked 1st in the SWAC in total defense. That year's defense also ranked 1st nationally in sacks (54), 8th nationally in total defense, and 10th nationally in red zone defense, with Parker's position group recording 9 interceptions. Alcorn State won the SWAC Championship that season.
In 2017, Parker served as the running backs assistant coach at Alcorn State under head coach Fred McNair, helping the team clinch its fifth straight SWAC Championship Game berth. He coached an All-American selection and two All-SWAC selections and mentored the school's all-time single-season rushing leader, who ran for 1,357 yards. His position group produced 2,139 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns that season.
Parker got his start in coaching at Florida A&M University in 2013 and 2014, beginning as a volunteer videographer before moving into the role of assistant wide receivers coach under Coach Ernie Mills and Coach Quinn F. Gray Sr.
Parker graduated from Alcorn State with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.
Parker is the son of Dr. Janelle R. Baker and Stephon Parker Sr. and has seven siblings: Tiffany, Brandy, Tresann, Jazmine, Devin, Toray, and Tearra.
