ASU Falls In First Round of the Jessie Harris Tournament to Southern

ITTA BENA, MS -- Despite the efforts of Asia Manning and Althea Russell the Lady Hornets were unable to close out the win against Southern University during the first round of the JessIe Harris Tournament, hosted by Mississippi Valley State University in the R.W. Harrison arena Friday morning. The Lady Hornets fell 3-2 with the final scores of 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 24-26 15-12.

Alabama State was led by junior college transfer Asia Manning with 15 kills, 14 digs, and two service aces. She was followed by Althea Russell with 12 kills, digs, and four block assists.
