MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Seniors Althea Russell and Brena Wheeler put kills down the line off of passes from teammate Ana Pego to open home season play.  Wheeler also hammered home the final kill in game three to win over Southern University leading ASU to its first win of the season with scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-21, marking the first time since the 2006 season that ASU has opened the its home season with a victory.
