The Alabama State football team hosts Prairie View A&M in a potential preview of the SWAC Championship on ESPNU in the Hornet Connection Day/Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The women's and men's basketball teams will participate in the Late Night Madness season tipoff event, while the Lady Hornets' volleyball team will host Jackson State in a key Eastern Division match. The men's golf team will compete this week at the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawk Invitational, the women's soccer team will play a pair of non-conference matches, and the women's and men's cross country teams will have their final tune-ups prior to the SWAC Championships.
 
BASKETBALL: The men's and women's basketball teams will make their first appearance of the upcoming 2011-12 season in the Late Night Madness event Friday night at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
 
CROSS COUNTRY: Hornet teams will travel to Tuscaloosa Saturday morning to compete in The Crimson Classic.
 
FOOTBALL: Saturday, the Hornets will host Prairie View A&M in a game that can be seen live on ESPN3.com and tape-delayed on ESPNU at 9:30 p.m.
 
SOCCER: The Lady Hornets will play on the road in non-conference matches at Grambling State Friday and Arkansas-Pine Bluff Sunday.
 
VOLLEYBALL:  Alabama State will host Jackson State in a key conference match Saturday night.
