Final Stats
The Alabama State volleyball team fell to Troy at the Sartain Hall in Troy, on Tuesday night (25-9, 25-18, 25-19) in a hard-fought match.
The Lady Hornets struggled offensively, freshman
Maya Bell and
Luiza Griz led the team with seven kills apiece.
The ladies had 21 attack errors and were blocked six times.
Troy took a 5-0 advantage over Alabama State in the first few minutes of set one. ASU scored back-to-back points (9-6) before the Trojans went on its surge taking an 11 point lead and never looking back taking the first set 25-9.
Set two saw as many as three ties, before Troy went on a 6-0 run on four of Alabama State errors to go up 18-12. The two teams traded points the rest of the way, as Troy won 25-18.
The third and final set was very similar to the previous set. ASU knotted the set four times before Troy was able to take a three point advantage (14-11). Troy took another 6-0 run to finish the match 25-19.
