Hornets Arrive in Michigan, Set to Take on Eagles

DEARBORN, Mich. –  The Alabama State University football team arrived in Michigan Friday morning and had a 45-minute walkthrough practice here before taking on Eastern Michigan Saturday in nearby Yplisanti.

Kickoff for Saturday's game is at 12:06 p.m. CT, and will be broadcast live on 90.7 WVAS-FM. The game may be viewed over the internet through the Eastern Michigan website for $5.95. Hornets Football Gameday Central on bamastatesports.com will be the one stop shop for live stats, live radio from the Hornets Radio Network, and the video streaming link to the EMU website.

It's was an early work day for the Hornets, who departed campus at 5:30 a.m. for a 7 a.m. flight from Montgomery. After arriving, the team went directly to Robichaud High School.

“The walk-through was good,” head coach Reggie Barlow said. “We wanted to have an opportunity to get loose, stretch a little bit and get the blood flowing. We got the guys up early this morning. This was a good break to come out here and reiterate some of the things we've been talking about all week. Guys seem to be really loose and relaxed and I like that.”

The Hornets had a good week of energetic practice and appear confident and ready for Saturday's game against the Eagles of the Mid-American Conference.

“We've been emphasizing all week that this is a good experience,” Barlow said. “We get to fly here and compete against an FBS school. The mindset is to enjoy the moment, seize the moment and come up here with a purpose, and that's to put on a good showing and see how we measure up against these guys. I think our guys ready to play.”
