Box Score 3 MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference named centerfielder
Meagan Dixon SWAC Player of the Week on Tuesday, April 3.
Dixon, a sophomore from Canyon Springs, Calif., went 7-for-10 at the plate, including a homer, a double, and six RBI. She had a solid 1.100 slugging percentage, a .700 on base percentage, and a .700 batting average over the past weekend. In her first 31 games, she was batting .309 but raised her average to .346 on the season. Dixon is hitting .280 in non-conference play recording (23-for-82) in 27 contests, and has a .560 batting average going (14-for-25) in her first seven games in conference action.
Dixon's weekend was highlighted in the 7-0 win over Alabama A&M, going 3-for-4, including a homer, a double, three RBI, and added two runs.
Alabama State will continue conference play when they travel to Lorman, Miss. Friday, April 6 to face Alcorn State at Braves Field in a three-game series. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
