Soccer Set to Host Lipscomb

The Alabama State University soccer team will host the Bison of Lipscomb on Friday, September 14 at the ASU Intramural/Soccer Complex. The match is slated for 7 p.m.

“We're excited to still be at home facing another great opponent in Lipscomb,” Head Coach Jodie Smith said. “We had a great week of practice, working on the mistakes that have hindered us in past few contests. We think this will be a great test for us, and we'll look to play hard for the entire ninety minutes.”

ASU (1-5) is going into the match seeking its second win on the season, while the Bison stands at (2-3-2) on the season. The Lady Hornets are coming off their fourth straight non-conference loss on Friday, when they hosted and fell to Belmont 3-0.

Lipscomb dropped its last contest on this past Sunday to Tennessee-Martin 5-1 on the road, and has tied in the two prior to facing Tenn.-Martin against Chattanooga and Trevecca.

Alabama State worked hard this week in practice after watching film focusing on its defensive tactics and trying to fix their mental mistakes passing the ball.
