The Alabama State Lady Hornets soccer team will hit the road traveling to Louisiana and Arkansas for the weekend.
ASU will play at Grambling Friday, October 18 at 4 p.m. and Arkansas Pine-Bluff Sunday, October 20 at 1 p.m.
The game is slated for 4 p.m. in Grambling, La. on Friday. On Sunday the match is set to start at 1 p.m. in Pine Bluff, Ark.
The Lady Hornets (9-6 overall/ 3-0 SWAC) is coming off a motivational division game defeating division rival Jackson State 2-1 last Sunday capturing the Eastern Division Champs title.
"We showed that we could play against one of the better teams in the conference on Sunday, " said Head Coach Jodie Smith.
Grambling (0-4-2/0-0-1) is coming off a loss from Mississippi Valley State (0-4) and a tie with Alcorn State (1-1) this past weekend.
"I'm encouraged that we're starting to address some of the issues that have continued to haunt us," Smith said. "Being in conference play, whether it's a division game or non-division game, we have to take it as a chance to improve and work forward. We have to give the same focus and attention for non-division games as we do to the division games," stated Coach Smith.
UAPB (2-11-1/0-0-1) has lost three straight games, including losses to Alcorn State and Mississippi Valley as well.
