Women's Tennis Fall To Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. - The Alabama State Women's tennis team fell to Auburn 7-0 on Wednesday morning at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on the campus of Auburn University.

The Lady Hornets (0-4 overall) had a tough time containing the Lady Tigers' rackets today falling in each of their doubles and singles matches today.

“The girls played great today,” Head Coach Anuk Christiansz said. “Although, the score didn't indicate how we played, I thought we played one of our best games today. We still have some ways to go but I think with more practice, we'll do well come conference play. I'm happy that I can see improvement from the ladies, and that they are willing and ready to learn more as the year progresses.”

“We played a great SEC team in Auburn. They are ranked 60th in the nation, so they are good. We just wanted our girls to have a great outing and compete, and that's what they did.”

Alabama State men's and women's tennis team will face Jacksonville State at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Complex.
