The Lady Hornets will have their work cut out for them keeping up a well balanced momentum where they had almost every player that hit the floor score. The coaches are looking for this continued success and have had to restructure their offense in practice working on detailed fundamentals that will lead to a winning season.
“We put in a new offense,” said Assistant Coach
Clayton Harris. “We were a little rusty last night, but we saw some good things. We have a more balanced attack right now and that's what we will have to make sure that we do on tomorrow. This is the second game around with all the teams and it's about making adjustments. We made the adjustments that we needed to make against Pine Bluff. They beat us at their place by five and we defeated them by three last night. We made the adjustment to get the win and that was the most important thing.”
Mississippi Valley sits in the number three spot of the conference with new head coach Elvis Robinson. The last time out playing the Devillettes ASU fell 67-63 at Valley. The Lady Hornets will look to continue to turn things around as they enter Monday's contest 7-14 overall and 5-5 in conference play. The Devillettes will enter the game with a 9-12 overall record and 6-4 in the SWAC.
“In order to defeat Valley we have had to make the adjustments,” said Harris. “They made some plays against us the last time that we didn't expect, but now we know their style of play. We had 26 turnovers the last time and that's too many and that's just adjustment that we have had to focus on. We are ready for Valley tomorrow.”
