Lady Hornets Falls To Lipscomb 3-0

Box Score Nashville, Tenn. –The Alabama State soccer team lost to the Lipscomb Bison 3-0 at the Lipscomb Soccer Field Friday evening.

"We really struggled on both sides of the ball. They pressed us all over the field and we did not much their intensity" Head Coach Jodie Smith said. "We made a few mental mistakes in the second half that cost us the game and now we will go and prepare for Sunday's match-up against Belmont."


The Lady Hornets (3-2) started the game slow in the first half getting out shot by the Lady Bison 9-4. Lipscomb struck first with a goal by Ellen Lundy off an assist from Brooke Coakley in the second minute.


In the second half, Lipscomb came out on the attack out shooting ASU 15-2, Lundy scored her second goal in the 49th minute with an assist from Baylee Linnell. In the 61st minute Lundy scored again this time with help from Molly Bray.

Junior goalkeeper Kylee Hathaway had 6 saves in 90 minutes of play. India Pleasant took six shots with one shot on goal.


Alabama State will return to action Sunday, September 8 at 2 p.m. when they Face Belmont at ES Rose park in Nashville, Tenn.
