Alabama State University's Lady Hornets tennis team will not have a lot of time to think about gaining their first victory of the season they gained yesterday over Stillman, as they will host Savannah State and Georgia Southern in what will be a busy weekend.

Savannah State will visit the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Complex Friday, Feb. 7 for a 2 p.m. match. Georgia Southern will be in Montgomery less than 24 hours later when they will face the Lady Hornets (1-3) at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.

"It was certainly nice to pick up that first win, but we have to move on to our next matches and they are coming around pretty quick," Head Coach Anuk Christiansz said.

Savannah State comes into Montgomery with a 0-1 record, while Georgia Southern has also played one match which it won. These are two teams that will help the Lady Hornets gain some more valuable experience as they work their way to the upcoming SWAC matches.

"With such a young women's team we are always looking for ways to help them gain experience," Christiansz said. "These are two quality programs that will push our girl's limits which hopefully will make us better. This program has come a long way over the past couple of years, but we still have a long way to go and playing good teams like we have this weekend will help us get there."

"With the first conference matches coming up at the end of the month we have a lot of growing up to do and each match we play we are looking to grow."

These matches represent the second and third matches of a season-long six match home stand the Lady Hornets are presently on.
