Film Reveals Positives and Negatives in UAPB Game

ASU's Defense Stood Tall against UAPB
With an important match up with Texas Southern only four days away, the Alabama State University football coaching staff has pin pointed some of the good things the Hornets did in their win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, but the film also showed several areas the Hornets must improve on before facing TSU.

"After looking at the film we really did play a pretty good game against Pine Bluff," Head Coach Reggie Barlow said.  "But there are some things we saw that we have to improve on as we move on.  Our cohesiveness and as a group things did come together pretty good in the game.  We were able to play some other guys to kind of see where they are and how they can help us, but it was a good effort by most of the guys."

"Obviously we had some guys that could have been a little bit stronger on the block and we have to tackle better as we get deeper into conference play.  Our special teams were good except for kickoff coverage.  That was not as good as we would like for it to be and we are going to make some changes on that."

After last week's short week due to the game being played on Thursday, the Hornets are back into their full week practice schedule.  Tuesday's practice will be at 7 p.m., while Wednesday the Hornets will hit the field at 3 p.m.  Thursday's practice will begin at 11 a.m. with Friday's walk through starting at 3 p.m.
