Lady Hornets host Jackson St. on Think Pink Night

MONTGOMERY, ALA.  – The Alabama State Lady Hornets volleyball team will hold a special Think Pink Night for Breast Cancer Awareness on Friday night at Lockhart Gymnasium against conference rival Jackson State with first serve set for 7 p.m.

ASU (6-12, 2-1 SWAC) will seek to turn around its fortunes after dropping its prior two matches.

The Lady Hornets' coveted 18-match regular season conference winning streak ended last Friday at Alabama A&M and ASU has been practicing hard all week to refocus and get back to their winning ways.

Jackson State (1-18, 1-0 SWAC) comes into Montgomery after picking up their first victory of the season, a straight sets triumph over SWAC opponent Mississippi Valley State this past Tuesday in Jackson, Miss.

ASU will have to be mindful of senior Jenna Siddiqui, who was just named the SWAC'S Setter of the Week for the third time this season on Wednesday.

Siddiqui has been the most productive setter in the conference thus far, thriving in a 5-1 formation, with a SWAC-best 492 assists for 7.69 per set.

As teams, Alabama State and Jackson State have been the two strongest in the conference in passing as ASU ranks No. 1 while Jackson State ranks No. 2 in assists.

The Lady Hornets have compiled 642 assists (Kori Kutsch 300 and Riley MacDonald 289) in a 6-2 formation.

The Lady Tigers are not far behind with 625 assists.
