LORMAN, Miss.  – The Alabama State volleyball team kept it rolling by winning their fourth straight and for the 12
th time in their past 13 matches as the Lady Hornets swept host Alcorn State 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-14) on Saturday night.
In doing so, the Lady Hornets (18-13, 6-2 SWAC) locked up the No. 2 seed in the SWAC's East Division.
Next, ASU will begin play in the SWAC Volleyball Tournament starting on Friday in Baton Rouge, La. against West No. 3 seed Prairie View A&M.Â
On Saturday, senior
Amber Bennett was highly effective, swinging for 11 kills against no errors.
Am. Bennett has been hot lately with 33 kills in her past three matches.Â
She needs just five kills to reach 1,000 for her career.Â
Myla Marshall had eight kills and a pair of blocks,
Tiara Kelley added six kills and seven digs and
Rachel Smith had five kills and nine digs.Â
Alcorn State (11-22, 2-6 SWAC) was led by Brittany Dumas, who had six kills.
