"It was a good victory," Head Coach
Brian Jenkins said. "I thought we played a good game. It was hard to keep these guys focused when we got off to the slow start."
Â
"My hat goes off to Miles. They were out-manned, out-numbered, but they came to play. They have a phenomenal coach, a phenomenal coaching staff and he had his guys ready to play. I think we were able to wear them down and take advantage of some things in the second half and it was a good victory."
Â
The Hornets used an impressive running attack to break open a close game at halftime in route to outscoring Miles (7-5) 17-7 in the second half.

Â
ASU's defense came ready to play in the game. They held the SIAC Champions to only seven points and 176 total yards.
Â
"They (defense) did a phenomenal job," Jenkins added. Week in and week out they got better and that's all you could ask of them. They did a good job against an explosive offense. They got a lot of players that can play in our conference. Their running back is really good and their offensive linemen are physical and that speaks volumes about their coach."
Â
"Our defense was able to step up and play a physical ball game and in the end we started winning the battle in the trenches and started playing on the opposite side of the line of scrimmage and when you do that you give yourself a chance to slow your opponent down. So my hat goes off to my defense."
Â
Daerius Washington and
Kourtney Berry both finished with 10 tackles. Washington had 2.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage while Berry added one. Washington was named the game's Defensive Most Valuable Player, while Berry's 10 tackles gave him 130 on the season and broke his single season record of 128 tackles last season.
Â
ASU had two sacks to go along with nine tackles behind the line of scrimmage which resulted in 29 lost yards. ASU's
Trey Jenkins had a fumble recovery and
