This is the first home game of the season and the first of the women's basketball team's
 five games home stand.

The Lady Hornets 1-3 are a week removed from an 80-54 road loss to Georgia Tech. and are looking to turn their season around.

The Lady Jaguars 1-3 led by sophomore guards Marquita Daniels' 10.3 points per game and center Chyna Ellis, who has already exploded for a 14 point 12 rebound game early this season.

Britney Wright leads the Lady Hornets in both points and rebounding with 11.3 and 6.3 per game respectively.

This match is the 26th game of the all-time series between the ASU and South Alabama. The Jaguars lead the series 20-5. In last season's meeting, Alabama State suffered a 64-61 loss in the Mitchell Center in Mobile, AL.
