"I am very proud of Brittney's performance tonight," said head coach

Down ten early in the second half, the resurgent Lady Hornets battled back sinking two three-point shots, and a layup to cut the UAPB lead to 35-33 at the 16:14 mark. ASU would then embark on a 24-1 run to take a commanding 59-46 lead in the last two minutes of action which would be the deciding factor in the game as the Lady Lions could not overcome the final deficit. "I thought we did a better job in the second half getting stops which created scoring opportunities for us," stated Freeman-Jackson.
UAPB managed to have three players to finish in double figures led by Destiny Brewton with 14 points, Amber Haggie's 11 and Carlisha Walker's 10.
ASU finished the game shooting 19-56 (33.9%) from the field
The Lady Hornets opened up the game with a 14-10 lead with 10:55 on the clock in the first half but, despite a back and forth battle and a 16 point first half from
Britney Wright, UAPB went into halftime with a 30-25 lead. Â
In the first half the Lady Hornets were out rebounded on the glass 24-18 and managed to shoot just 8-29 (27.6%) from the field.
"In the first half of the game I thought we got off to a slow start," said Freeman-Jackson. "I think we were not focused on the defensive side of the ball which caused us to fall behind early."
